Are you hosting an event such as a party, wedding, or event where you need music for a crowd?

Plug and Play DJ can help you "self DJ" or "iPod DJ" your wedding or event with a HUGE sound system and an amazing light show. We make it super easy with delivery, setup and training included in our base price. Once you have booked our DIY DJ system, all you have to do is prepare your playlist... we'll handle the rest!

We Deliver
Everything

You tell us when and where you need us, and we will show up early and deliver all the equipment directly to your venue. You are not required to pick anything up; we handle everything.

We Set It All Up
& Train You

Our technician will set up your system, making it look clean and attractive, with all the cables routed and hidden where possible. They will then show you, and/or anyone else you designate, how to operate the system. (Don't worry, it's super easy!)

You Party With
Your Own Play List

Connect your device containing your playlist via Bluetooth or an auxiliary cable supplied by us and just press play. The DJ system will come to life with huge sound and amazing lights! We also include a microphone for any speeches or announcements.

We Pick It Up
& Take It Away!

When your event or wedding wraps up, and you are ready to go home... just go. Our technician will return to disassemble and pack up your DIY DJ system and take it all away. There is no heavy equipment to return to a rental place the next day!

  • Two loud and hard hitting 1400 watt speakers on stands
    (extra speakers and sub woofers are available as upgrades)
  • Professional mixer with Bluetooth or an auxiliary cable to connect your device
  • A stand for your laptop or mobile device
  • One wired microphone with stand
    (can be upgraded to a wireless microphone)
  • 2 light towers with 6 lighting effects each
  • All necessary cables neatly arranged and tied down or hidden where possible
  • White or black scrims (cloth coverings) to hide the speaker and light stands
  • 1 4-foot table with fitted white or black covering
  • System is delivered and set up, training provided, and taken away at the end of your event.

Who sets the sound and light system up?

Our professional staff will arrive early to deliver and setup your DIY DJ sound and light system for you. They will even train you on how the system works (don't worry, it's easy!).

Best of all, after your guests have all gone home, they will return to pack everything up and take it all away. We offer a turn key solution where all you need to do is supply a mobile device or laptop and a playlist; we will handle everything else.

Can I really have an awesome party without a DJ?

YES! So many people are doing their own thing these days. However, a little pre-planning certainly helps. Make sure your playlists are ready before the big day, and designate 1 person to control the music. Oh, and a password on your device is absolutely essential to prevent guests from taking over!

We provide all of our clients with a detailed instruction manual for the sound system, as well as a guide to successfully self DJing their wedding or event that expands on the few points shared here.

Is it legal to play copyrighted music at my wedding or event?

Yes, your venue will most likely already have a SOCAN license that will cover your event. However, some do not. If your venue doesn't have a SOCAN license, you can obtain one yourself and it is a minimal cost. The fee starts at $22 and is calculated based on how many people you will have in attendance and whether or not there will be dancing at your event. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are meeting all legal requirements. We can assist with the paperwork if you have any questions.

Do you offer your services outside Calgary?

Yes! We provide our DIY DJ packages outside of Calgary for no additional fee to Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, and Strathmore.

If your event is further than that, we will travel up to 250km for an additional travel fee of $50.00 + 75¢/km from the city center (as determined by Google Maps).

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, we carry a commercial liability insurance policy in the amount of two million dollars, and have the required WCB coverage. This is to protect ourselves and our staff, as well as you and your venue.

What happens if I have a problem during my event?

Our sound and light systems are designed to be user friendly and extremely reliable. The equipment we supply is all commercial grade and very high quality; it's not just junky/beat up rental gear. Once we set everything up and do our tests, you should not have any problems!

However, in the event something does go wrong, the sound technician who setup your system will be on call for you for the duration of your event. He or she will provide unlimited phone support and troubleshooting. In the unlikely event your problem can't be solved over the phone, they will return within 30 minutes to correct the issue.
